How Sjoelen’s scored.
Sjoelen (Dutch shuffleboard) is played on a long wooden board with four numbered gates at the far end. Here’s how the points add up — and a calculator you can use while you play.

The rules
The board

Left to right, the gates are numbered 2, 3, 4, and 1 — deliberately out of order. A complete set needs one disc in every gate.
Playing a turn
Each player gets 30 discs per round, split into 3 turns of 10.
Discs that land in a gate stay there. Discs that miss are collected and slid again on the next turn.
After all 3 turns, every disc has landed in a gate. That’s when you count the score.
Basic scoring
A complete set is one disc in each of the four gates, and it’s worth 20 points. Discs used in a set aren’t counted again.
Every disc left over after forming as many complete sets as you can is a leftover disc worth 1 point.
The bonus: complete a set
1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 4 discs→one disc in every gate→20 points
Every time you have at least one disc in all four gates, that set of four scores 20. Land several complete sets and each one scores 20. Leftovers stay at 1 point each.
Worked example
Putting it together
Say a player’s discs land: 1 in gate 2, 3 in gate 3, 1 in gate 4, and 4 in gate 1.

Perfect play across 3 turns — seven complete sets plus two leftover discs — tops out at 142 points.
