About AppSignal

Hello, we're AppSignal.
It's nice to meet you 👋

AppSignal isn't your ordinary tech company. We try to be amazing at anything we do. We put our values over profit. This helped us build an independent and sustainable business we're proud of. Does this resonate with you? Look at our vacancies and join us.

Born in 2012

Our first commit was in 2012. Over 30K commits have been made since then.

100B+ a month

AppSignal monitors over 100 billion requests a month for our customers.

16 and growing

Bigger isn't always better. We're doing lots of amazing work with a tight team.

Our Mission

AppSignal provides developers amazing and actionable insights into their applications. Our all-in-one monitoring product is designed for developers: easy to set up and easy to customize. AppSignal takes teams from scattered to gathered.

Our values

We’re built on a strong foundation of vision & values.

Our values are the foundation for how we act in the world. You could describe this as our character, our non-negotiable principles.

Act with integrity

We act and speak with respect, in private and in public. We choose to do what is right over what is easy.

Human and lighthearted

You can run a serious business without taking yourself too seriously. At the end of the day, we're all humans. And we're not afraid to show that.

Act independently

Work should fit into our team's lives, not the other way around. That's why we work remotely, have an unlimited vacation policy, and offer flexible work-hours.

Work with passion

When we wake up, we should feel excited to work on AppSignal because the mission inspires us. We still understand that this is a job. We have good days and bad ones.

Remote first

Working remotely from around the world.

We’re a remote company working together across the world. Currently we have people working from the Netherlands, Germany, Pakistan, Serbia, Spain and the United Kingdom.

Remote, but not from home

Balancing work and private life is hard enough. Mixing the two in the same physical location is often a recipe for stress. At AppSignal, we believe in "remote, but not from home". Everyone in our team gets a budget to rent a desk or office space close to home. This creates some mental distance from work.

Our team

Meet the amazing team behind AppSignal.

Even though we don't share an office, we share the same values. We're an open and welcoming team, trying our best to provide everyone with the environment to do their best work. Check out our open roles if you are interested in joining us.

Infrastructure Overlord

Our co-founder that sometimes goes missing for months on end to work on our infrastructure. Makes sure our billions of requests are handled correctly. Best drummer of the company.

Wes Oudshoorn

Chief Color Picker

Once a rogue designer, now co-founder and manager of colors at AppSignal. If our app looks great, it's to his credit. If something is wrong, he points at developers. Loves skiing.

Robert Beekman

Legacy Code Maintainer

As a co-founder, Robert has written the very first commit. He's also our support role-model and knows about all the tiny details in code. Travels and photographs (at the same time).

Tom de Bruijn

Commander of Agents

Developed for AppSignal in the early days and is now back. Likes to make our data agents better. And better. And better. Writes awesome long blogposts. And is writing a sci-fi series.

Jeff Kreeftmeijer

Corrector of Wrong

In his free time, Jeff goes around correcting people on the internet. During work-hours, he corrects the team. Oh and of course, he writes great code. Says he only has boring hobbies. Should we believe him?

Liesbeth Verhoeff

Finance Fixer

When she's not making sure our finances are correct and up to date, she likes to go out and ice skate with the whole family. Fun fact: Liesbeth holds a PhD totally unrelated to finance or APM.

Jeroen van Baarsen

Code Hooligan

Jeroen once said he could 3D print a flying motorcycle, and that he would grow a beard if he failed. Nowadays he prints foldable beard combs.

Operator for/of People

Not a real surgeon. Loves organizing all kinds of things, especially when there are to do lists involved. Enjoys discussing vegetarian recipes with their cat Yuki, and Céline Dion singalongs.

Support Engineer

As curious as a developer gets. As our support engineer he loves to get to the bottom of things. He also likes to get to the bottom of a plate of Malay food.

Customer Success

This Scot escaped grey Britain for sunny Barcelona. Combines techno music and painting (don't ask). When not helping developers, she cycles the city to find new barrios, bodegas and eats pan con tomate.

Ana Malinović

Content Marketing Operations Manager

Ana manages the AppSignal blog, working closely with authors to get blog posts just right. Board game geek and hoarder of probably far too much gin – sorry, ‘gin connoisseur’ is the term.

Photo of Luismi Ramírez

Luismi Ramírez

Code & Riff Maker

Luismi started out as a musician and ended up as a developer. When he's not writing code, he loves playing his guitars and driving racing simulators. His adrenaline pump stays healthy that way.

Photo of Noemi Lapresta

Noemi Lapresta

Software Whisperer

They say that if you gaze long enough into the code, the code gazes back at you — and Noemi hasn't lost a staring contest since 2011. She enjoys tea, warm blankets and emergent behaviour in stochastic systems.

Photo of Jieun Kim

Jieun Kim

Product Designer

She adapts well to change, loves challenges and starting from blank slates, which is why she chose the perils of life as a product designer. Good food, café con leche, and doggos help her to stay balanced.

Photo of Connor James

Connor James

Technical Writer

Podcast addict who loves cannoli so much that he's considering changing his name to Connoli. He thinks there's a `u` in color. You might find him on the mic, on the stage, or lying on the sofa when he's off Documentation Duty.

Photo of Dimitrios Lytras

Dimitrios Lytras

Pixel Connoisseur

Dimitrios is working on a refactor, but we're too afraid to ask why. He said it would make things 'blazing fast', and 'more maintainable'. We all know that he's just playing chess right now.

Photo of Davis Norde

Davis Norde

Product Developer

Finds peace in building user interfaces. Often gets lost in browser's developer tools admiring the web's beauty. Over the years as a basketball fan has filled his head with a ton of useless trivia facts about the NBA. Enjoys long runs as a form of meditation.
